Everyday is a new day…endless possibilities awaits anyone who dares to believe beyond what they can see. Consider for a moment the stars of the sky. Research indicates there are 100 billion stars in the Milky Way Galaxy. I don’t know about you, but I surely have never counted that many. Nonetheless, that does not nullify their existence. Life is a lot like the stars in the sky, there is much to embrace that you can not see. Can you believe for greater things in your life even though you can not see them right now (Ephesians 3:20)? When you look to God and understand He is always at work on your behalf, hope begins to arise within your innermost being and you begin to reach for the stars.
To appreciate the beauty of the stars you have to position yourself properly. If you are among the bright lights of the City your experience will be much different than if you were out in the open country. Taking hold of all the promises God has for you is much like stargazing. Sometimes they shine brightly for all to see, other days those opportunities are hidden behind self imposed clouds. Clouds of doubt, disappointment, fear, busyness, or insecurity. All these distractions can cast a blanket over the vast beauty which awaits your discovery.
Today, if you feel as though you can not see the stars of opportunity overhead, Stop… Look…Reposition if necessary, but do not give up. There are stars designed for only you to see, waiting for you to reach up and take hold of them. They are stars filled with your dreams, hopes and desires.
I recall an evening when my son was visiting from New York City. He had a high tech telescope and we had planned a night of stargazing. Unfortunately, in our area that evening, the cloud cover was thick. We were unable to see any stars through the clouds. So what did we do? We went on a stargazing adventure. We did some research to determine which nearby areas were free of cloud cover, we packed up the gear, and headed out to position ourselves to see the stars!
We spent some time traveling that evening, we drove for hours, we were on a mission. We kept our focus on the vision set before us. We fought against discouragement, and weariness. Eventually, we broke out of the cloud layer, and the stars filled the sky.
The bible says without vision the people will perish (Proverbs 29:18). Do you have a vision for your life, a desire which is burning deep within you, yet at the moment, seems out of reach? You were created for a purpose, by the designer of the universe! He is not hiding your dreams and goals from you. He is a way maker. He made a way for Moses in the desert (Numbers 9:1), Taught Noah how to build the ark (Genesis 6:14), and cleared the way for the Israelites to cross the Red Sea (Exodus 14:21). He will make a way for you!
We were determined to ‘find the stars’ and were willing to do whatever was needed to make that happen. What clouds are preventing you from taking hold of the abundant life God has for you? What goals or dreams have you stopped pursuing? Are you willing to break away from the clouds, go on an adventure and make new personal discoveries? It is possible to bring the stars of your hopes and dreams into the reality of your today!
Make a decision! Choose only God’s best for your life, do not compromise. You can experience more joy, peace, love, and contentment. We enjoyed an evening of stargazing only because we were tenacious.
I challenge you today to be persistent in your pursuit of God’s blessings. The depth of the stars truly goes beyond what the human eye can perceive. Dream big. Look upward. As vast as the stars fill the sky, God’s love for you extends even further (Romans 8:39).
Whatever label you place on the clouds overhead, know there is a loving God who is willing to make a way for you to overcome and breakthrough into the clear skies of His blessings. Have faith in God, have faith in yourself. You are irreplaceable, you are valuable, and you are loved!
Reach for the stars!

Goodness, sometimes I don’t even think Iook up, let alone position myself properly. I will have this post in mind as we view the eclipse this weekend. 🙂 Happy stargazing.
Hello Rhonda,
Great to hear from you! You are not alone, life can keep us so engaged we often can miss the blessings within our everyday environment. May you be blessed as you position yourself to embrace the beauty of the eclipse. 🙂
